The ATEM Constellation 8K from Blackmagic Design is a powerful switcher in a 2 RU chassis that supports 8K video. It features a built-in control panel on the front, and 40 12G-SDI inputs, with two main and 24 AUX 12G-SDI outputs on the back. Each input has its own standards converter, which allows you to seamlessly switch between inputs no matter what format it is. The Constellation 8K incorporates four DVE, 16 Keyers, and four media players, allowing for flexibility in creating your program. Four multi-view outputs enable viewing 4, 7, 10, 13, or 16 simultaneous views.
The generously-sized LCD screen on the front of the unit displays the input video with a label of the input number. You can control the Constellation 8K locally via the front panel buttons, or use the included ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel via an Ethernet cable. Alternatively, you can also control the system from a computer using the included control panel software.
The built-in Fairlight audio mixer supports 80 channels (40 stereo channels) of de-embedded audio from SDI, plus 64 channels via MADI in. Talkback functionality is available via the 5-pin XLR on the front of the unit, or the RJ12 connector on the back.
The ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel is a highly sophisticated control surface to control the Constellation 8K Switcher. Utilizing high-quality buttons, knobs, fader bars, and a 3-axis joystick, you'll be able to customize the extensive panel to your individual needs.
Complex live productions require a versatile control panel, and the ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel allows you to customize, monitor, and switch your live broadcast events with features such as camera switching, executing transitions, fades, DVE effects, and it also sports 8 on-air indicators. The panel features two rows of M/E with 20 input buttons per row, two system control LCDs, independent LCDs for custom labeling of every row and button, 20 direct cross points, 40 shifted cross points, two preview transitions, and various DSK transition selectors such as Auto, Cut, and Tie/Preview.
The ATEM 2 M/E Advanced Panel connects to the switcher via 10/100/1000 BaseT Ethernet, and there are four Ethernet loop outputs for connecting to another panel or to a media-management computer. The panel receives firmware updates via its USB Type-C input.
